The fire was extinguished by 11.20pm.

Noone was injured in the blaze.

James Perry, general manager at Rowhill Grange said: "All rooms were evacuated and any guests staying in our mews were moved directly into our main house bedrooms.

"The evacuation was a smooth process and due to the sensitivity of our thatched roof the fire brigade reached us within minutes and were thankfully able to contain the damages of the fire.

"Our main priority was of course our guests and team.  There were no injuries and I am personally very proud of the way in which my team handled the unfortunate event.

"We do not know the exact cause of the fire as yet only that it may have been due to electrical fault. Naturally, a full investigation will be taking place.”
