A 16-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bus in Abbey Wood yesterday (October 31).
Witnesses claimed the boy had been running from the Lidl supermarket when he was hit by the double decker in Eynsham Drive at around 5.10pm.
One tweeted: "Bloke ran away from Lidl abbey Wood, into path of bus, trapped under bus, fire/ ambulance and police in attendance."
Despite the arrival of the London Ambulance Service, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed, however officers await formal identification. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Catford are investigating.
There have been no arrests.
