A Dartford engineer has jacked in his job to become a full-time artist after being signed to the same agency as Bob Dylan.

Dan Lane told News Shopper his life had become "crazy" after gaining success as a sculptor and joining creative agency Castle Fine Arts.

The Fleet Road resident crafts surreal masterpieces out of everyday objects such as ceiling fans and fruit bowls.

News Shopper first spoke to the 43-year-old in April when he was combining his engineering day-job with his art.

News Shopper:

Mr Lane’s work is gaining in popularity and he recently sold a piece to a Russian art buyer for £10,000.

He will be exhibiting at Castle Gallery in Mayfair next May and has taken the leap into full-time artwork.

Mr Lane said: "I still can't believe how crazy things have gone in just a few months.

"It's amazing to now be a full-time, signed artist."
