A cyclist has been taken to the major trauma unit at a south London hospital after hitting a car door while riding her bike in Greenwich today.

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene on Trafalgar Road at around 9.30am.

The woman, aged in her 30s, is currently being treated for pelvic injuries at Kings College Hospital in Lambeth.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 9.29am to a report of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a car.

“It was a stationary car and the cyclist collided with the car door which was open. We sent two ambulance crews and a single response unit to the scene at Trafalgar Road and treated the woman in her 30s for pelvic injury.

“The woman was taken to the major trauma centre at Kings College Hospital as a priority patient.”
