Up to 35 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade attended a smoke-filled Bromley theatre yesterday following reports of a fire.
Although no fire was discovered, six pumps attended the Churchill Theatre in Bromley High Street at 5.40pm.
A concert by The Hollies had to be cancelled because of the smoke and ten people had left before the brigade arrived.
Firefighters found a faulty air conditioning unit to be the cause of extensive smoke covering all floors of the building.
The building, as well as an adjacent library, was declared safe at 8.33pm.
