A Bromley resident has described a car "blowing up" after it was found in flames last night.
Lesley Davies, 70, from Isabella Drive in Farnborough, said he heard a car alarm going off about 10pm and went outside to check what was going on.
He found a car on fire in nearby Broadwater Gardens and said it was "quite spectacular".
Mr Davies told News Shopper: "It was a big fire, the car was well alight.
"It was blowing up and everything. It kept banging around ā quite spectacular really.
"It looks liked it was a Ford but Iām not sure."
Mr Davies said other residents have come out to see the commotion and another had called the London Fire Brigade (LFB).
An LFB spokesman said: "We were called at 10.08pm to a car alight on Broadwater Gardens, Orpington.
"There were no reports of any injuries."
The crew managed to put the fire out by around 10.30pm and the cause has not yet been identified.
