A woman who died after being hit by a bus in Overcliffe, Gravesend has been named.

Marcela Petrasova, aged 44, was killed on September 23 when she was struck by the 480 bus at around 3.35pm.

The Slovakian-born woman leaves behind a husband.

An inquest into Mrs Petrasova's death will take place at The Old Town Hall in Gravesend on January 7 at 11.15am.

It is thought she was trying to cross Overcliffe from north to south, near Iceland, when she was hit by the bus, which was travelling in the direction of the town centre.

An air ambulance landed in the car park of Wickes DIY store and the victim was treated at the scene of the accident but paramedics were unable to save her.

The Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is looking into the cause.

They are hoping to speak to witnesses, or anyone who has any information they think might be helpful.

In particular, they want to find two women who were standing outside a supermarket at the junction with Stuart Road, as they may have important information.
