A man alleged to have gatecrashed Brands Hatch in the middle of a race in a Volkswagon Polo appeared in court this afternoon (September 22).
Jack Cottle, aged 21, of Durgates in Wadhurst, East Sussex is accused of driving on to the track during a high-speed race on June 15 at around 4pm.
Cottle appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court charged with causing a public nuisance.
The court heard Cottle allegedly bypassed security and stewards to get onto the former Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit during the final 30 minutes of the four-hour Volkswagen Fun Cup Race.
He did not enter a plea and has been bailed until he is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, October 10.
