17 per cent of those who normally use the car on their daily commute say their journey times have got worse over the past 12 months.
This figure rises to 20 per cent for commuting in London.
More than 20 per cent have tried different types of transport on their commute including car-sharing, cycling, public transport and motorbikes or scooters.
Older commuters are more likely to go by car.
Two per cent of commuters travel more than 75 miles to work.
Long-distance commuters five times more likely to take the car than the train.
8.7 per cent of workforce working from home – marginally up over the past five years from 7.9%.
