A woman screamed for help as she was grabbed by the neck in an attempted robbery in Beckenham on Wednesday night.

Bromley police are investigating after they were called to a building on Upper Elmers End Road at 11pm.

Police say the suspect grabbed the 35-year-old victim by the neck and pushed her against the wall in the communal hallway of a block of flats.

But when she started to scream for help the suspect ran off.

Police say the woman was uninjured and no property was taken from her.
