A woman screamed for help as she was grabbed by the neck in an attempted robbery in Beckenham on Wednesday night.
Bromley police are investigating after they were called to a building on Upper Elmers End Road at 11pm.
Police say the suspect grabbed the 35-year-old victim by the neck and pushed her against the wall in the communal hallway of a block of flats.
But when she started to scream for help the suspect ran off.
Police say the woman was uninjured and no property was taken from her.
No arrests have yet been made.
