Construction works for the £160 million Woolwich Crossrail was yesterday approved by Greenwich Council.
The development, dubbed an integral part of Woolwich’s regeneration, is to be based at Dial Arch Square and will take commuters just eight minutes to travel to Canary Wharf and 21 minutes to travel to Bond Street.
Berkley Homes have been working in partnership with TfL, Greenwich Council, GLA and Crossrail over the past six years in the attempt to bring the station to Woolwich.
The station aims to include 450 secure cycle spaces with taxi facilities being considered, construction of twin bore tunnels, high standard of design providing a positive relationship with between the development and existing area.
Crossrail w Trains are due to start running between Shenfield and Maidenhead, across central London, in 2017.
