A Lewisham Hospital nurse who was a self-confessed fan of ‘big bottoms’ pulled down his colleague’s skirt, called another a ‘brainless cow’ and refused to collect post-operative patients, a tribunal heard today.

Vusi Nkosi on one occasion grabbed a colleague by the wrists and would often pull and touch at staff member’s clothing remarking he was a fan of “big bottoms”, it was claimed.

The nurse, employed at the hospital since 2000, told a female co-worker he “knew what was good for her” and was willing to be her toyboy.

Nkosi shouted at one nurse that she was a ‘f****** brainless cow’ the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) was told.

He would also refuse to collect post-operative patients from theatre if he felt he had too much paperwork to do and would delay handover completion by up to three hours said Victoria Hale for the NMC.

She continued: “Later that day Colleague A was dealing with a bank nurse who had to leave her shift early. This then led to the registrant and Colleague A exchanging words at the nursing station.

“He is said to have shouted ‘you are a lazy cow, you’re a f****** brainless idiot.

“Later the registrant told Colleague A that he knew what she was missing and was willing to be her toyboy.”

On another occasion with the same colleague, Nkosi allegedly said he could imagine his “thing in between her bottom”.

The NMC said the registrant’s actions were sexually motivated.

The panel was also informed that when Nkosi was asked to go on his break he would respond by saying “I’m not a child”.

The registrant, who would subsequently not return from his break punctually or tell colleagues where he was going, did not attend the tribunal today and makes no formal admission of the charges.

The hearing continues.
