Former Goldsmiths students Rob da Bank and his wife Josie could be bound for the record books this weekend.

The Festival organising couple will welcome Guinness World Records adjudicator’s to Bestival this weekend as they attempt to set a record for the largest disco ball the world has ever seen.

Bestival kicks off on the Isle of Wight on Thursday and goes through til Sunday. Performers include OutKast, Foals, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Beck, Disclosure and Busta Rhymes.

Rob da Bank said: “Can you believe it

“We’ve only gone and cracked it - we’ve built a beauty and we’re certain this disco ball is a record breaker.

“So certain, in fact, that we’ve invited the nice people from Guinness World Records to come and confirm it. Don’t miss out on an historic part of Bestival lore and join us next weekend to see if we really are record breakers.”
