A woman was furious at being told to f*** off after politely asking two rag and bone men to clean up the ‘huge poo’ left on her front lawn by their horse Thursday morning.

Lesley Sitchett, of Gerda Road, New Eltham, said she witnessed the animal offload onto her lawn and was subsequently ‘given the finger’ by the youths.

Mrs Sitchett claims the police were unresponsive upon telling them about the incident which left her with excrement outside her house.

The 58-year-old said: “It was so big you’d need a bin bag to pick up that mess!”

“What bothers me is that the council come down so hard on us dog owners and I always pick up after my little springer spaniel so why do they get away with it and we don’t?”

Mrs Sitchett, who works with children, said rag and bone men would often ride up and down the road where she lives and has never had any problem with them in the past.

“We grew up with rag and bone men and have never had a problem with them at all but I just can’t believe what those two boys did. We had a lovely old gent who used to ride up and down his streets and would always pick up after his horse so why can’t they do the same?”

Because you live in fear and they don't. Fear controls, that's how the council, government control US.

Dog poo is unpleasant - it stinks, burns and discolours grass, and carries harmful diseases, including toxocara canis which can cause blindness. It is a particular danger to children. That's why you should always clear up after your fog.

Yes, horse poo also smells but it is far less unpleasant and is actually used as a fertiliser by many gardeners. It also poses far less risk to human health. Be grateful that's all they dumped!

Tonic you miss the point dog poo should be cleared up I agree, but what is the difference in dropping litter and your horse pooing in the street, both should be cleared up.

Sounds like it's the 2 boys that the News Shopper did an article about a while ago. I don't think they were travellers, but gone are the days of the friendly "rag and bone men" - it's these arrogant little s**ts and Eastern Europeans in rusty transits stealing stuff from from your garage.

If a dog owner got caught not picking up the dog mess they get fined, should be the same to horse riders, I hate seeing any poo out side my house. Horses poo are bigger so more of a chance a child could fall into it its health & safety, pick up your animal mess everyone will be happy, if caught not picking it up then fined, this poor owner got to pick up someone else's mess it's not fair the owner of the horse should do it.

What's "health & safety"?! It's not toxic and won't cause children any harm. Might even help them grow a bit!
