A New Cross road was cordoned off by armed police yesterday morning after neighbours reported gunshots being fired.

Lewisham officers and members of the Met's firearms unit were on the scene in Brocklehurst Street at 1.20am on August 19.

But despite cordoning off the area and making a thorough search, no victims, suspects or firearms were found.

Anyone with information is asked to call Trident on 020 8247 4685 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
