Biggin Hill saw history fly into 2014 as the last two airworthy Avro Lancaster bombers flew into its airport.
The Lancasters arrived on Thursday August 14 and are the sole flying survivors of 7,377 built in the UK and Canada during the Second World War.
One is registration PA474 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.
The aircraft is well known for its UK displays with the BBMF Hurricane and Spitfire during the summer months.
The second is based in Canada where it was manufactured in 1945 and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force until 1963.
It was returned to flying condition in 1988 and today is operated under the auspices of the Canadian Warplanes Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario.
The aircraft is crossing the North Atlantic on a special visit to the UK and will join with PA474 for a small number of displays in the UK and Europe before returning.
Two Spitfires also arrived at Biggin Hill with the Lancasters as part of the commemorative display.
The Red Arrows meanwhile visited Biggin Hill this month as part of the RAF team's 2014 touring programme.
