The supervisor of Catford’s Chick Chicken shop has spoken of the events leading to the vicious stabbing of one of his customers.

Speaking to the News Shopper Saleemi Muhammad described the chilling moment two teens pounced on the 21-year-old regular customer at the shop in Catford High Street.

The 30-year-old, who has worked there for more than five years, said he saw two teenagers both waiting outside the shop for a long time.

He said: “The man came into the shop after the customer and just attacked him from the back. There was a fight and then he stabbed him from the front and just ran away.”

After his colleague made a frantic call to the police Mr Muhammad tried to help the victim who he said he has known for three years and has “never had any problems with”.

He added: “It was definitely a big plan as afterwards we checked the CCTV footage and the pair were waiting outside for him for a very long time.”

A 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy have both been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The victim was taken to a South London hospital and is said to be in a critical but stable condition.

Detectives from the Trident Gang Crime Command are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to call them on 020 8247 4877.
