A man who is believed to have 'shot himself dead' during a police siege in South Darenth has been named as Stephen Knock.

The 47-year-old from Igtham Close, Main Road, Longfield is believed to have 'shot himself dead' in a house in Esparto Way - just hours after a woman was taken to hospital with stab wounds on July 28.

Officers confirmed that they found the body of a man when they entered the building and recovered a gun from the property.

The inquest into Mr Knock's death was opened and adjourned by the North West Kent Coroner's office yesterday, August 11.

The full hearing will be held on November 13 at the Old Town Hall in High Street, Gravesend.
