Bromley residents living next door to a mountain of waste smelling of “rotten corpses” say not enough has been done to remove the site. The Environment Agency has now begun work to remove the huge mound at St Paul’s Cray.
Daniel Cartwright from the London Fire Brigade says the dump has cost emergency services £650,000 in attending fires there.
Bob Neil, Bromley and Chislehurst MP, said the land was supposed to be green belt while Dr Ivan Vince, an environment risk assessor said the site was very dangerous.
Waste4Fuel, owners of the site were not available to comment but have previously said they may go into administration.
