A grandfather killed after being hit by a car in Dartford has been named.
William Blowey, aged 84, was killed after being hit by a silver Volvo saloon in Park Road by the junction with Downs Avenue at around 8.10am on July 1.
Residents of Park Road are now campaigning to have a safe crossing installed in the road.
An online petition to be sent to Kent County Council has now been signed by 343 people.
In a comment on the web page, Mr Blowey's grandson, Robert Blowey said: "The fatal accident last month took my grandad's life and though I don't live in the area anymore I grew up around there and have always though the road is extremely unsafe."
Another relative, Jayne Blowey added: "The person who was knocked over is a relative we have just had his funeral. Do something to stop this happening NOW!!!"
