As the Bakerloo line looks set to roll down to the deepest corners of south-east London, News Shopper has asked some more residents about the prospect.

Interviewing in Hayes yesterday (Augu 5), two full-time mums, a Liverpool Street commuter, and a 18-year-old on his gap year, all seem positive about the idea...

Admin assistant Amy Watmore, 33, of East Way, Hayes, said: "It’s definitely a good idea, I’d use it and it’d be good for the children in the future.

"We go up to London a lot and my husband sometimes commutes. I think it would be a good service.

"It would ease congestion and save time. North London has better transport links – Hayes is lovely and a Tube would improve things."

News Shopper:

Full-time mum Sarah McCausland, 29, from West Wickham High Street, said: "I would support it as it’d help everyone going into London.

"I think it’s worth the money. It’s a long way into London and can take a while – it might make access easier. It’d definitely make life easier."

News Shopper:

Barry Bathe, 59, who works for a law firm in Liverpool Street and lives in Branston Crescent, Petts Wood, said: "It’s a brilliant idea. I think it’s worth the money – however much it costs.

"I’ve been commuting for over 40 years. It’s only going to get worse.

"I would like to see it happen. What I don’t think is so good is HS2."

News Shopper:

Gap year school leaver Dru Johnson, 18, from Bromley Common, Bromley, said: "I think it could be a good thing. I think it might make things easier – definitely getting around the borough.

"But I don’t think it would make a difference getting into London really – the overground service from Bromley is fine. Although I never get a seat so it might be good for that."
