The Astley Day Centre summer fete saw hundreds of people treated to sun, burgers and ice cream.

The event, in Magpie Hall Lane on Saturday (August 2), included Pets as Therapy and a reptile tent.

The St John's Ambulance and fire engines also made appearances, while a fashion contest and bouncy castle kept everyone who attended entertained.

Andrew Blake, day services manager for Bromley borough, said: "It went really well - it was like a village fare. The weather held off and we raised £1600.

"Lots of people had a good time - what was good was that it was open to the whole community."

Just out of interest why are there no pictures of the adults with learning disabilities enjoying themselves. Surely it was their fun day too.
