And so the most anticipated event in the UK fashion industry awaits us this September, London Fashion Week – five days full of catwalks, showrooms and parties from September 12 to 16.

These five reasons are why LFW rocks...

It’s our very own

It’s on our own turf, giving us the chance to showcase raw British talent. British designers such as Burberry, Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney will all be displaying their creative ready to wear collections this autumn. And we just can’t wait to see the new cutting edge pieces being carried gracefully along the runway.

Christopher Bailey

In February, Christopher Bailey took us into the Bohemian world of patterned prints, water-coloured silhouette designs and antique lace. Being at the forefront of British Fashion, the Burberry Show and collection is well anticipated. We can’t predict what will be exhibited, all we know is that it will be magnificent.

Huishan Zhang

As well as displaying wonderfully British fashion, London Fashion Week is an opportunity to celebrate diversity and the newer names.

Huishan Zang, a graduate of Central Saint Martins, inspires us with his culturally connected look while staying close to western modernity.

He worked for Dior for a year and launched his collection just after graduation.

His initial inspiration for his AW14 collection came from the landscapes of China

Kattri

It’s not only the clothes we’re awaiting! Amanda Gerbassi will be showing her bold collection of fine gemstone jewellery with the “quadrant ring” as her signature piece. Her line was inspired by Le Corbusier’s Purist Period where he focused on geometrical shapes contributing to her minimalistic signature.

The geometrical use of different shapes such as circles, rectangles, cylinders and straight lines makes each piece boldly unique and eye-catching.

LFW Pop-up Shop

Find ready to wear accessories from designers such as Bella Freud and Markus Lupfer to take home. It gets even more exciting – designers like Vivienne Westwood and John Rocha will be exhibiting a customised nestbox you can see in store.
