A fire in two semi-detached houses in Eltham was tackled by the London Fire Brigade.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were on the scene at Brownspring Drive, New Eltham.

Fire engines from Lee Green, Eltham and Lewisham fire stations were called out by a neighbour alerting emergency services to the blaze at 1.02pm.

London Fire Brigade said at around 2.15pm the fire was under control and the two houses suffered roof damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
