A disorienting multi-sensory show will open at an old coaling jetty in Greenwich this summer.
The Boy Who Climbed Out of His Face is London-based art collective Shunt’s first show since 2012 and the first at the new venue The Jetty.
Audiences will enter an ‘industrial pavilion’ made from shipping containers barefoot to experience a peculiar and hectic world which draws inspiration from Charles Kingsley’s The Water Babies and Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness.
The group said: “Every 10 minutes 30 people will disappear into a shipping container and are spat out 45 minutes later.”
The show is on for six weeks only from August 14, with tickets costing £10. There will also be a pop-up bar and food venue open Tuesdays to Sunday until midnight, serving cocktails and street food.
