The family of a 13-year-old foreign student killed after being hit by a lorry near a Catford pedestrian crossing have released photos of their daughter.

Yun-Yi Chen was killed at around 7.35am on July 16 in Brownhill Road as she made her way to a summer school.

News Shopper:

The student, known to English friends as Sharon, had been due to fly home to Taiwan this week.

Her three-week stay had been organised by Twin Group, a Lewisham-based organisation.

Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene by friends and well-wishers.

One card read: "So young. So innocent. So wrong. Sleep peacefully with the angels. RIP Princess."

News Shopper:

The driver of the lorry, a 39-year-old man, stopped at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taken into custody at a south London police station.

He has now been bailed until 17 October, pending further investigation.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage is investigating.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call the witness lines on 020 8285 1574.
