More than 30 kickass youngsters took part in a two-hour karate session which drummed up more than £1,000 for an Eltham hospice.
Students at Lewisham Shotokan Karate Centre took part in the tough training to raise funds for Demelza Hospice Care.
The youngsters were led through drills including blocks, kicks and punches by the founder of the centre Sensei Roy who was the former assistant coach to the JKA England Squad and Thailand’s heavyweight champion.
Demelza community fundraiser Emma Rowe said: “We’re extremely grateful to Lewisham Karate for their help in raising money for our charity.
“Demelza provides vital care and support for life-limited and life-threatened children and their families across the area and the money raised during this event will help us not only to continue to support these families but also to reach out to even more who may need our vital help.”
Sensei Roy added: “I’m immensely proud that we’ve been able to raise so much money for such a deserving local charity.
"I’m especially proud of the students who have participated in the training today as well as the support from parents and brothers and sisters.”
