A crunch meeting takes place tonight (July 17) over a new footbridge at Grove Park station which could see travellers get a sneaky peak into residents' bedrooms.

Neighbours threatened legal action over the work last year and the plans were subsequently dropped. But a new application for the bridge shows little change to the previous scheme.

Karen Galloway, 48, explained: "The footbridge will be right outside my front door. It will totally overshadow us."

She said: "When people have looked at the big plans for the station, they realise the whole thing is complete and utter nonsense."

Sandi McNamara, 41, said she was concerned work would go on overnight and make residents' lives a misery.

A Network Rail spokesman said: "We are committed to providing an accessible footbridge for passengers at Grove Park and we have worked hard to keep residents informed and engaged, and to take their views into account."

A planning committee will discuss the plans at Catford town hall at 7.30pm.
