Residents are invited to two public consultations to comment on the redevelopment of Erith Quarry.

The site, which has entrances in Fraser Road and Riverdale Road has lain dormant since 1980, has been bought by Essex developer Andersons.

The Erith Quarry project team want to discuss their proposals for the site’s future which includes housing and community facilities.

Craig Rought, development director, said: "We are in discussions with Bexley Council about our ideas, which we believe represent an exciting opportunity to bring Erith Quarry back into the local community.

"We will continue to work with the council over the coming months to support their aspiration that education should play a part in the site’s future."

Councillor Joe Ferreira for Erith said: "We welcome the consultation for this potential development.

"Obviously the plans are at a very early stage, but this consultation provides a great opportunity for all residents near the site to have their say.

"We hope that the developers will include an affordable mix of properties and facilities that can serve the whole community."

The public exhibitions will take place at Trinity School, in Erith Road, Belvedere on Saturday, July 19 from 11am to 4pm and on Tuesday, July 22 from 4pm to 8pm.
