Police investigating a man who died in Downham after being stabbed have arrested four men.
Named locally as 22-year-old Afyon Saint-Hilaire, he was found having crashed a car on Sunday July 13 following reports of a fight outside McDonald’s in Old Bromley Road.
Today (Tuesday July 15) officers say four men, 18, 19, and two 23-year-olds, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody at a south London police station.
An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn of the Homicide and Major Crime Command at Lewisham.
Police say a post-mortem examination held at the Princess Royal University Hospital yesterday (Monday July 14) gave cause of death as shock and hemorrhage and a stab wound to the leg.
The murder is not being treated as gang-related and enquiries continue.
