The sights and sounds of carnival came to Blackheath with a primary school’s celebration of different cultures from around the world.
All Saints Church of England School’s International Day saw Blackheath Vale closed for a street party before children, parents, and visitors paraded to the heath.
Pupils created their own colourful costumes, representing countries they had been studying, and there was food from across the globe as well as activities such as Sri Lankan coconut games.
All Saints headteacher Debbie Tompkins said: "We love Carnival at All Saints. It's a fantastic, happy day to really celebrate diversity and different cultures both within our own school and right across the borough and beyond.
“The children really enjoy and embrace the spirit of Carnival and learn important values like tolerance and respect."
Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock, who launched the party on June 27, added: "It was great to see the children take part in the carnival so enthusiastically.
"The costumes were wonderful and it's excellent to see learning happen in such a fun and interactive way."
