A man has admitted planning to supply drugs after police discovered £16,000 worth of cannabis at two addresses in Beckenham.

Eustace Richard McKenzie, a plumber from Wellhouse Road, Beckenham, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply at Croydon Crown Court last Wednesday (July 2).

Police executed two drugs search warrants on May 7 at addresses in Croydon Road and Wellhouse Road.

As police arrived at the address in Croydon Road, they saw McKenzie, 24, leave the flat his girlfriend was living in and get into a vehicle.

He was stopped and officers discovered cannabis in his car.

When they searched the flat, they found more than 1.5 kilograms of 'skunk' cannabis, along with other items of drugs paraphernalia, including smell-proof snap-bags and weighing scales.

Police then went to the address in Wellhouse Road, where they discovered more quantities of 'skunk' cannabis as well as £3,600 in cash, which was also seized.

McKenzie was arrested and charged.

Detective Constable Kieran Given, from Croydon crime squad, who led the investigation, said: "The weight of evidence that McKenzie was dealing drugs in and around the Croydon area was so great that he had little choice than to plead guilty to the charges.

"Drug dealers cause serious harm to our communities and we will continue to proactively target those involved in the production and supply of drugs in Croydon and bring them before the courts."

McKenzie is due to be sentenced on August 8 at Croydon Crown Court.
