Greenwich and Lewisham workers along with firefighters to join massive national strike
Hundreds of council workers from across the area will be joined by fire fighters and teachers when they walk out on strike next week.
Local government employees who are members of the Unite union are strking against an "insulting" one per cent pay offer.
In Greenwich, strikers will include library staff from Greenwich Leisure Limited and cleaners from council-run GSPlus.
Lewisham park staff from Glendale will also join the industrial action, along with members of the Fire Brigades Union.
Nationally, more than a million council and health workers, teachers and civil servants, will be taking industrial action.
The walkout will be the biggest over pay since the coalition came to power, with plans for further strikes later in the year.
Unite national officer for local government Fiona Farmer said: "Our members have endured four years of pay cuts in real terms and they have now voted overwhelmingly to strike on July 10 to drive home the message to ministers that "poverty pay" in local government must end."
