Brockley pervert sexually assaulted Deptford children when he was just 13

News Shopper: Damien Walters Damien Walters

A Brockley man has been jailed for a string of sex attacks on Deptford children, some committed when he was just 13.

Damien Walters, 32, of St Asaph Road, was jailed for 30 months at Woolwich Crown Court today (June 27) after being found guilty of four counts of indecent assault.

Met detectives has been contacted by three women who stated that Walters had assaulted them in the Deptford area when they were children, between 1995 and 2000.

One of the women told officers that when she was aged six or seven , Walters - who was just 13 at the time - assaulted her on a number of occasions.

Detective Constable Gary Castle said: "I commend the victims for coming forward. All three victims were children at the time and have found it challenging to come forward, to relive the events of their attack from many years ago.

"Walters relied on the fact that these victims were young when he assaulted them and that they would not be believed. He was clearly mistaken."

Walters was found not guilty of one count of rape and the jury failed to reach a verdict for a second count of rape.

No smoke without fire as they say, but I have to ask as I wonder how these three women recognise him when they were only about six or seven at the time? Have they been keeping tabs on him ever since? And if so, why wait till now to bring to the attention of the police?

Mark Chandler, this is a poorly written article, with far too little fact for all your assumtions....
I also see you left the not guilty verdicts for the bottom of the article; so to not effectthe wanted effect of your slander.
Also as you publicised an address, I am assuming you are willing to take responsibilty for any backlash his family may suffer.
As sarfflondonbird said, why wait until now? and all together?

It's clearly not true because look at it like this and you will laugh,
as stated they were 6/7 when it happened 19 years later they all come to light with this information, why now? why not before? yeah fair do's they may not of thought it was wrong at the time, but why not come out with it when they new it was wrong "what he did"
This isn't no Jimmy saval story there wasn't one then two week later another and then a week late another no they all come at the same time witch makes you think.
To what sarfflondonbird said my point why wait till now what is in it for them.
There is something very wrong about this story I just feel for his family I really do, sending a innocent man to jail for what reason, I hope the truth comes out sooner rather than later.

This guy wouldn't have pleaded guilty if he was innocent. Forget about him being a nice guy, that's how they usually appear. He was only 13, I sure knew right from wrong at 13, or is he retarded. If he didn't know right from wrong, why is he lying out of his back teeth.

And as for you Ndotte89, why didn't you turn up at court, and why was his family not there to support him. His mum knows he was guilty, lol. People you are a joke, nice guy indeed. How would you all feel if it was your child, would he still be a nice guy. Do you think someone would go through this humiliation if it were not true. Come on. Think about the victim, not the perpetrator.
