Residents of Bromley will soon be able to see their unwanted clothes and shoes go towards fighting global poverty.
Clothes reuse charity TRAID has announced its expansion to the borough today (June 24), offering scheduled pickups of out-of-favour attire.
The organisation operates by allowing people to donate garments and shoes without leaving their homes, with options to book collections on its website, by phone, or via email.
With around one million tonnes of textiles sent to UK landfill sites and incinerators each year, TRAID works to reduce carbon emissions and consumption, while raising funds to support projects in developing countries.
CEO Maria Chenoweth-Casey said: “We are delighted to offer Londoners a sustainable and convenient way to donate clothes to charity, rather than throwing them away.
“Every donation is precious enabling TRAID to stock its charity shops and raise funds to protect the environment, deliver sustainable education and fight global poverty.”
