Eltham shopkeeper assaulted and robbed in early morning attack

An Eltham shop owner is believed to have been assaulted and robbed in an early morning attack today (June 16).

Police were called out to Eltham News Food and Wine in the High Street at 7am this morning.

A 43-year-old man was taken to a south London hospital for treatment to a minor head wound.

Shortly afterwards, two men aged 22 and 20 were arrested in nearby Wythens Walk.

They remain in custody at a south London police station.

I quite often drive past this shop and think it looks like some sort of crack den covering as a newsagents. There are always chavvy looking types hanging around it, the owners son stands outside smoking fags and people from the flats above go in and out wearing nothing but trackies and string vests.

This is totally irrelevant to the attack I know.
