New research suggests half of British adults have wet the bed, with Londoners the worst culprits.

The survey by online bathroom retailer UK Bathrooms polled 2,034 people with 54 per cent of them owning up to soiling the bed since they turned 18.

Many of these blamed ‘alcohol overindulgence’ for the embarrassing episode.

Split into men and women, the survey showed more men (67 per cent) have wet their bed than women (33 per cent).

The average age for adult bed wetters was found to be 21.

The following regions were identified as the top five:

1. London – 17 per cent

2. South East of England – 14 per cent

3. Scotland – 12 per cent

4. North West of England – 9 per cent

5. West Midlands – 6 per cent

After reading about people eating off the floor this makes perfect sense, walking across the floor to get to the toilet could leave germs behind for when dinners ready.

I just don't know who comes up with this crap. How do you get this information and then just print it as a news story is beyond even words.

So why illustrate the story with a couple who obviously have other things on their mind apart from wetting the bed? And what's the point of this ridiculous non-story? I thought this was supposed to be a newspaper - silly me!

Some people that post on here really are stupid! You've taken the time to read the article and comment on it. If the article doesn't interest you, don't read it. As well as reporting serious news, there are light hearted articles, reviews on pubs, sport, etc. It's called trying to cater for everyone's' tastes.
