The Crossness Engines Industrial Museum in Abbey Wood is hosting its first open steam day of the summer.
The event at the Belvedere Road site on June 22 will feature the restored Prince Consort machine in action which is reckoned to be the largest of its type in the world.
Visitors will also be able to see progress on Victoria, the engine that stands alongside Prince Consort, and a gathering of smaller-scale steam engines.
These will include small-scale traction engines right down to Meccano engineering and model railways on display.
The day runs from 10.30am to 5.00pm with last admission at 4.00pm. Tickets cost £6 for adults, £2 for children aged 5-16 years and under fives go free.
Volunteer Jonathan Cowie said: "This Crossness steam day will appeal to engineering and steam buffs, not to mention those into our industrial heritage, local history and indeed anyone who enjoys a spectacle and has a sense of wonder."
