A four-vehicle smash on the south circular in Lee has left a person fighting for their life in hospital.

Emergency services were called to St Mildred's Road at 6.35am yesterday (June 8).

The crash involved four vehicles and saw road closures for several hours.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "We await an assessment of injuries, but at least one person is thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries."

A London Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed that one patient had been rushed to King's College Hospital with another three taken to Lewisham.
