Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses to a burglary at a Sidcup hospital.

Queen Mary's Hospital in Frognall Avenue was broken into on May 30.

At around 11.30am Met police officers on patrol were flagged down by a motorist who told them that three men were breaking into the closed down maternity ward on the hospital site.

The officers arrived on the scene and arrested two men on suspicion of burglary - they have been bailed until July 3.

Police are keen to trace the motorist who flagged down the officers, along with anyone in the area who may have seen or heard something.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Bexleyheath Burglary Unit, who are investigating this case, on 0208 284 9132. Alternatively you can report information anonymously to Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.

But the old maternity unit had been closed for years, what's still in there to steal?
