Gravesend RNLI were called out to reports of a woman who was threatening to jump off Erith jetty on Thursday evening.

When the crew arrived just before 11pm it turned out the woman was actually fishing and was not in need of any help.

A spokesman said: "It was put down to a false alarm with good intentions."
