A retrial has started for five men accused of the murder of Marcus Innocent who was gunned down in Woolwich 18 months ago.

The 35-year-old, who lived in Kingsman Street and was a student at Woolwich College, was blasted in the stomach with a shotgun in Lord Warwick Street on November 19, 2012, at around 6.20pm.

Daniel Burgess, aged 34, of Lansdowne Lane, Charlton, and Perry Lee Sutton, aged 26, of Green Street Green Road, Dartford, are two defendants standing trial at the Old Bailey for his murder.

Brothers Jack Brennan, 21, and Patrick Brennan, 24, of Appleton Road, Kidbrooke, as well as Richard Brennan, 29, of Kidbrooke Grove, are also accused of his murder.

All five men deny murder, as well as possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to cause GBH with intent.

A second trial is due to take place on September 8 with defendants including Peter Ta, 32, of Broad Walk, Blackheath, who is also charged with his murder.
