A woman has spoken of her torment after her 92-year-old mother died in pain after she spent four days trying to get a GP to visit her home.

Susan Law, 62, of Burdett Close, North Cray, lost her mum Edna Law on May 16 following a sudden illness.

The devastated daughter claims that from May 12 she spent four days trying to get a doctor to come out to see her mother but that only nurses were sent on two occasions.

Miss Law told News Shopper: "My mum was in pain. The doctors sent antibiotics but would not come out and see her.

"She could not swallow.

"Me and my next door neighbour tried to give her the medicine the nurses gave us but we just could not do it.

"We lived together for the last 15 years. She was at home with me.

"She died with a horrified look on her face.

"She was pushed under the carpet like a piece of rubbish."

Edna was a patient at the Sidcup Medical Practice in Church Avenue and now Miss Law said she has changed to the Barnard Medical Practice because of her experience.

Miss Law said that on May 12 she called the GP surgery and waited all day but nobody came out.

On May 13 she called and asked for a home visit but again a doctor did not go round.

The next day she rang again and a nurse was dispatched who told Miss Law to give her mum lemonade, chocolate and crisps because she was low on sugar.

On May 15 Miss Law said she called the doctor again and a nurse came out.

A spokesman for NHS England said: "We are extremely sorry to hear of Ms Law's passing, and our thoughts are with her family at this time.

"Unfortunately we cannot comment on individual patient cases."
