News Shopper: Ann Barnes during Channel 4's Meet the Police Commissioner Ann Barnes during Channel 4's Meet the Police Commissioner

Kent's police commissioner was called upon to quit today with a light aircraft circling police HQ pulling a banner demanding she steps down.

It follows the screening of Meet The Commissioner on Channel 4  last night, which was described by many as a 'mockmentary' and a 'joke'.

The plane was spotted over Maidstone at noon today, the latest in a series of protests over the show. The banner read: "#Ann Barnes out. Resign."

The plane took off from Rochester Airport at 11.45am.

I assume the TV programme was incredibly well edited to show Ann Barnes as a bumbling fool. If on the other hand the show was a true representation of her time in this position so far, then it suggests that she really is not capable of undertaking this role.

I am also pretty sure that the people of Kent are delighted to know that she wants to increase Council Tax exponentially to fund policing, but she doesn't want to give them the chance to vote on it just in case she loses.

Oh dear.......
