Warship HMS Bulwark arrived in Greenwich yesterday - and a military rehearsal woke up hundreds of people this morning across the area.

The Royal Navy's flagship vessel, HMS Bulwark, has moored off Greenwich Pier in support of activities for the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines.

Visitors will be able to take a tour on May 31 and June 1. Tickets to take the tours are already sold out.

But, ahead of the tour, an early morning rehearsal has been going on for tonight's air and sea capability demonstration, which takes place from 8.30pm to 8.45pm.

Neighbours generally did not react well.

Some people likened it to a war film.

Others went for the sarcastic approach.

Blogger Deptford Dame had a more cynical explanation.

Others questioned why it was happening so early.

And Twitter user Angela Sinden just felt sorry for the pilot.
