The Redstarts are a group of  young adults with learning disabilities, who, working with Deptford based artists Cash Aspeek and Chris Marshall, have come to be a well-known troupe on the local art scene.

Funded by the Arts Council and working from Deptford Creekside's APT Gallery, the sculptures will  tower atop the rooftop next month. A similar exhibit was unveiled in 2012 for the Olympics.

Ms Aspeek explained: "The Redstarts were really excited to see their creative art work transformed into wooded sculptures and enjoyed the task of making them weather proof for their installation in early June.

"We sanded and painted the 8ft tall heads that were designed at the end of January this year so the Redstarts were excited to see each other again after a long wait."
