A Chislehurst dad is paying off his debts after turning just the price of a couple of pints into £150,000 at a national poker tournament.
Angelo Milioto, 43, from the town centre, made himself significantly richer on Monday while competing at The PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour in Nottingham.
The father of three nearly got knocked out in the early stages but came back to claim second place, wining £143,728.
Mr Milioto had his children watching on at the contest, promising them 10 per cent of anything he took home - and plans to be "very sensible" with the remainder.
He told News Shopper: "I set up my own business a few years ago and got into a bit of trouble - a large proportion of the money is going to the tax man.
"I'm lucky to have got this second chance.
"My kids (sons Louis, 17, and Oliver, 13, and daughter Lola, 8) are getting about £4,500 each.
"For me paying off my debts is the priority. I'm going to be sensible."
A glazing company sales director by day, it was his first experience at a notable tournament having only taken part in small, friendly games around south London in the past.
Mr Milioto added he "absolutely loves poker" but it has largely been a hobby up until now.
He mentioned he has never really had the budget to fork out the £1,000-plus buy-ins at major tournaments, but managed to qualify for this month's on just £8 playing online.
Quite remarkably though his boss promised him a trip to the world's gambling capital Las Vegas if he met his sales targets - which he did.
He said: "I'm going to enter a slot at the World Series - that's going to be my significant investment from the win. It's like the World Cup of poker.
"It's called the Millionaire Maker and costs about £900. It's very prestigious. Last year's winner got over a million."
