A former Bexley girl is releasing a song in memory of her friend Kayleigh Duff who sadly died of a rare form of cancer last month.

Katie Birch, 29, who now lives in Herne Bay, who goes under the stage name Lady KTB is releasing the song called Live Your Life with and K.A.D. on May 12.

Kayleigh, who also lived in the coastal town, was a single mum who devoted herself to three-year-old son, Kai.

Katie said: "I am doing this because Kayleigh gave such inspiration to live life to the fullest.

"As poorly as she was she never gave up nor complained about it. I wanted to send that message to everyone, for people with cancer to be strong and for people who don't to think of those worse off then they are.

"By doing this I can raise as much money as possible and raise awareness for those who suffer and their families all over the country."

Kayleigh was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2012, which then spread to her liver and brain.

Her illness was brought on by a rare gene defect, which killed her father aged 37 in 1998.

All proceeds will go towards Cancer Research and you can follow Katie on Twitter @LadyKTB and the producer @TeamKAD.
