Elderly Welling cannabis dealer found hiding in wardrobe

A 64-year-old Welling cannabis dealer found hiding in a wardrobe when police raided her home has been ordered to pay back £42,463 in drug money.

Thui Luu Vuong, of Rochester Way, Welling, was told in Woolwich Crown Court on May 9 she must pay back the sum - calculated to be the amount she earned through her dealing.

It follows a police raid on her home in July 2011, when officers found her inside a bedroom wardrobe, with another man crouched behind a door.

In two rooms upstairs, cultivating equipment was found together with 123 skunk cannabis plants. Air vents were hanging from the ceiling and in the loft.

Last September at the same court Vuong was found guilty of  being concerned in the production of cannabis, possession of drugs with intent to supply and abstracting electricity.

A 28 year-old man released on bail is still at large. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Detective Sergeant Michael McElroy from Lewisham police's criminal finance team said: "A financial investigation has been ongoing since the arrest of Vuong and during our investigation we found that she had considerable amounts of cash passing through her bank account which was unexplained income which she had not paid income tax.

"Since the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 was introduced we have increasingly been able to seize assets acquired as a result of criminal activity. This latest confiscation should send a clear message that no matter how long it takes we will pursue you to recover assets made from criminal activity."

Yes do show us a photo so that we can spot the culprit and alert the police services should they be available to check him out.

So how is she going to pay back all of this money that she has been landed a fine with? £1 per week from her benefits?
Will she have to do more dealings to be able to pay this money back? (No doubt she will already be claiming a colossal sum in benefits so therefore will not have the immediate funds to give back to the tax inspector).
How much were her seized assets worth? I bet not as much as she stashed away somewhere for her "rainy day" and what amounts to her fine to be paid back.
Does she now have to relinquish her home as a result of this crime and for her home was in all intents and purposes, not allocated to her for that particular use,and will housing authorities be rehousing her if she does lose this home? You can bet your life they will.
I no doubt suspect that all and sundry will be crawling out of the wood work to aid her in her human rights etc.
In this country, do we really need scum such as this? No. Chuck her back to the country from where she and her co horts (because you can bet there was more than just this other bloke not caught yet, in on the act) have originated from. No doubt she was probably an asylum seeker, and yes, that is me surmising, but I bet secretly, I am right.
