Charlton's plans for a New Eltham training ground complex have been given the go-ahead.
The Sparrows Lane facility is billed as a joint sports and education building, catering for first team, academy, Charlton Athletic Community Trust and amateur football clubs.
A main three-storey building provides office space, physiotherapy and injury treatment along with catering facilities. Alongside it will be eight full-size pitches.
Greenwich Council's planning board approved the plans last week, on condition that the option of a green roof is looked at and a traffic management plan considers the effect on Footscray Road and Sparrows Lane.
Chief operating officer Steve Bradshaw said: "It is the unique relationship between the club and the Community Trust which has allowed this project to progress and gather momentum in recent months and gives us the opportunity to develop the training ground as a community hub."
